If you find Windows 10 file explorer will not refresh there is a registry setting that will solve this problem for you. You can find the original post here
Here’s the down and dirty.
- Open Regedit as an administrator
- Locate this key address given your operating system
- For 64-bit based computer, locate this key address HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID
- For 32-bit system base, locate this: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID
- Right click on CLSID and click NEW then KEY
- Use this as the Key Name: {BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}
- Right click in this newly created Key Name and click on New than Key and name it Instance
- Right click on Instance and choose the ~WORD Value (DWORD is for 32-bit, and QWORD is for 64-bit) and name it as DontRefresh. ~WORD value should 0 (Zero)
- Restart you computer
